Unforgettable Audrey


The private and intimate side of Audrey Hepburn, unforgettable protagonist of movies like “Roman holiday” and “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, is at the heart of an exhibition now in progress at Fondazione Carispezia.

An exhibition set up at Fondazione Carispezia in La Spezia (Via Domenico Chiodo, 36) celebrates the life of Audrey Hepburn, unforgotten protagonist of legendary movies like “Roman holiday” and “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, 90 years after her birth. Wanted by the well-known actress’s son, Sean Hepburn Ferrer, the exhibit arrives in Italy with an ad hoc set up designed for the spaces of the Foundation located in La Spezia after the Brussels and Amsterdam stages.

As suggested by the title “Intimate Audrey”, the purpose of the exhibition, that can be visited until 1st March, is to shed light on the human and private side of the woman concealed by her role as movie star. Photos, personal memories, writings, drawings and objects allow visitors to retrace the main phases of this beloved Hollywood star’s life. Her childhood in Brussels with her family, the subsequent relocations to London, U.S.A., Italy, her marriage in Switzerland with Mel Ferrer and the birth of their son Sean, her friends, up to the years in which she dedicated with an immeasurable commitment to philantrhopy, which earned her the Humanitarian Award. The exhibition path, structured in 3 different sections, is also enriched by clips from her most famous movies and video-interviews.
